  17. <p>There's gold in them certificates, discovers a Disney investor
  18. </p>
  19. <p>     There was Pop Art. And Op Art. Now comes the latest
  20. postmodernist art form: Stock Art. Michigan entrepreneur
  21. Lawrence Wilsher is offering the public single shares,
  22. appropriately framed, of the Walt Disney Co. He sells the
  23. certificates not for their face value but rather for their worth
  24. as actual works of art--replete with Walt's visage and images
  25. of such classic Disney characters as Bambi, Dumbo and Mickey.
  26. Wilsher's mixing of art and finance earned the scrutiny of the
  27. Securities and Exchange Commission, but the agency has confirmed
  28. that he does not have to register as a broker as long as he
  29. offers only framed certificates at well above market price. He
  30. charges $112, frame included, for a Disney share that brings $45
  31. on the Big Board.
